Privacy Policy

The short version: we only collect what we need to make and deliver your order, your photos stay private, and we never sell your information. Ever.

Who we are

SnapTreasures is a brand of Snap Treasures Australia (ABN 72 556 930 709), a sole trader based in New South Wales, Australia. When we say “we” or “us”, that’s who we mean. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Your order details — name, email address and shipping address, collected at checkout.
  • Your photos — the images you upload to be made into magnets.
  • Payment — handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
  • Basic analytics — anonymous-level info about how the site is used (pages visited, device type), to help us make it better.

Your photos, specifically

Photos are personal, so here’s exactly how we treat them:

  • They’re uploaded securely and stored in a private storage bucket — never public, never browsable.
  • They’re used for one purpose only: making your magnets (including our hand-check before printing).
  • We never share them, publish them or use them in marketing without your explicit permission.
  • Want a photo deleted after your order? Email us and it’s gone.

How we use your information

  • Making and shipping your order (the main event).
  • Order emails — confirmations and dispatch notifications.
  • Replying when you contact us.
  • Understanding how the site is used so we can improve it.

We don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve opted in, and we never sell or rent your information to anyone.

Who helps us (service providers)

Like most small businesses, we use a few trusted services to run the store. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Cloudflare — secure photo storage and web services
  • Supabase — order records (stored in Sydney, Australia)
  • Resend — sending order emails
  • Netlify — website hosting
  • Google Analytics & Microsoft Clarity — site usage analytics

Some of these providers process data outside Australia; we choose reputable providers with strong security practices.

Cookies & your browser

Your cart is saved in your own browser’s storage so it’s still there when you come back. Our analytics tools may set cookies to understand site usage. You can clear or block these in your browser settings any time — the shop will still work.

How long we keep things

Your photos are deleted 90 days after your order is dispatched. That comfortably covers the window for telling us something arrived damaged or wrong, and after it there is no reason for us to still hold your images — so we don’t. Want them gone sooner? Email us and it’s done.

Order records — what you bought, and the name, email and address needed to send it — are kept for five years, because Australian tax law requires us to keep business records that long.

If something goes wrong

If information we hold about you is ever lost or accessed by someone who shouldn’t have it, and there’s a real risk of harm to you, we’ll tell you what happened, what it affects and what we’re doing about it — promptly, and in plain language. Where the law requires it, we’ll notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner too.

Children

SnapTreasures is meant for grown-ups doing the ordering, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. Parents and guardians are very welcome to order magnets of their kids — that’s most of what we make. If you believe a child has sent us their own details, email us and we’ll remove them.

Your rights

You can ask us any time to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you — just email hello@snaptreasures.com.au. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we’ll do our best to sort it out; you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Questions? Get in touch.
